Flowers on pots

Here we have a selection of very fine examples of Torquay Pottery flower decoration. Some are painted in coloured slips Barbotine style or underglaze pigment Faience style. They are mostly from the late Nineteenth or early Twentieth Centuries. The decorators did not usually sign their work although sometimes a notable artist decorator like Thomas Dean a Staffordshire decorator was allowed to.

We are indebted to Bob and Viv for providing these excellent photographs of their collection.
